Assignment: plan a trip to several interesting sites in Iowa. Use the cardinal and intermediate direction to describe your trip.

Assignment: measure the distance between your planned trip and calculate the total distance.

Tuesday: Write about a friend who is by your side no matter what

Wednesday: Tell what you would do if you came upon an animal in the library

Story structure (Skill); Begin reading Because of Winn Dixie


Thursday: Write spelling words in cursive

Read and discuss Because of Winn Dixie


Friday: Explain why you think Mrs. Frannie mistook Winn Dixie for a bear

Grammar skills review- simple subject and predicates, sentence fragments, writing complete sentences


Social Studies:


Monday: Notecard review

Finish United States Activity using Smart board; introduce timeline project


Tuesday/Wednesday: Notecard review

Timeline project in class workdays


Thursday: Project due beginning of class; start presentations


Friday: Finish presentations; self reflect on projects; (pass out books if time)
